Robberies on Coral Street and 9th Avenue

Two robberies took place in two different sections of Paterson: one on 9th Avenue and the other on Coral Street.

In the first a 33-year-old man was walking near 9th Avenue and East 24th Street at around 11:45pm on Wednesday when a group of three men pushed him to the ground and fled with his possessions. The victim later informed police that one of the suspects had what appeared to be a weapon tucked  under his clothing. The man suffered minor injuries, but not bad enough for a trip to the hospital.

Three hours later, at around 2:30am, an elderly man, 66-year-old, was attacked by a group of assailants, who beat him to the ground and separated him from his belongings.¬† The suspects got away with the man’s wallet and phone. The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment. His injuries were non-life-threatening, according to Paterson Police Department.

Both incidents are being investigated by police.
