A dump truck flipped over on Tuesday night causing oil spill that covered more than 25 yards near McLean Boulevard, according to Paterson Fire Department.

The accident happened at around 9:30pm near the intersection of Edward Avenue and McLean Boulevard leaving the driver injured; however, when the firefighters responded to the incident the driver refused medical treatment, according to Richard Hoedemaker, the deputy fire chief.

After taking care of the driver, who was later transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, it took the fire fighters 1 hour to clean up the spill and clear the accident. By 10:41pm McLean Boulevard was open to traffic, according to Mr Hoedemaker.

It is unclear whether the driver was drunk.
