A women who was walking outside near North Main Street with family members and a small child last night was struck by a stray bullet, according to Paterson Police.
The victim, 18-year-old, was walking with two family members and a small child near Arch and North Main Streets on Saturday night at around 9:30pm, when she suddenly heard gunshots in the area. After perceiving gunfire she tried to hurry, when a stray bullet hit her in the hip.
The woman was immediately taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment; the other two family members were unhurt, and the small child was unharmed as well.
Police are investigating the incident.
