A man was found with multiple gunshot wounds on the sidewalk of Highland Street, according to Paterson Police.

The victim, 27-year-old, was inside a home on Highland Street near Park Place with several other men at around 2:50am on Tuesday morning, when they hard a knock on the door.

The victim or one of his companion, after hearing knocks, opened the door, and in came two men, described as black, armed with weapons. One of the two suspects began firing at the victim.

After wounding the victim the suspects fled on foot; the wounded man was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center where he is serious but stable condition. Police are investigating the incident.
