A Clifton man who operated a chiropractic shop on Broadway called Pain and Injury Center of North Jersey in Paterson has been arrested earlier today for Illegal Running, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor Office.

Joseph Salomone, 45-year-old, of Clifton, would use what are called runners, individual who would seek out victims, get in contact with them, and refer the vulnerable individuals to him. The runners would, after referring each patient to Mr Salomone, collect between $800 to $1,000 per referral.

The runners sifted through accident reports to find victims. After a three month investigating the prosecutor office charged Mr Salomone with “Illegal Running (N.J.S.A. 2C: 21-22.1) is a third degree offense punishable by from three to five years in State Prison.”

Last year, August 2012, Mr Salomone was indicted on charges of insurance fraud by the Attorney General’s Office through the Office of Insurance Fraud Prosecutor.
