A 32 Caliber Revolver, which was stashed behind near a garbage can, in 23rd Avenue was recovered by detectives Wednesday evening, according to the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office.

Richard Berdnik, the Passaic County Sheriff, announced that his office was provided with a tip from a local Patersonian, who informed them that a blackman, in his 20s, dressed in grey gym shorts, wearing a red shirt, was seen hiding what appeared to be a gun near a garbage can on 23rd Avenue. Detectives were dispatched into the area to recover the weapon; officers found a 32 Caliber Revolver.

Detectives have yet to identify the individual who hid the weapon near the garbage can; the recovered weapon will be sent to New Jersey State Police Regional Laboratory for ballistics and further investigation, according to Mr Berdnik.
