Two drug dealers — both from out-of-town — were arrested on Belmont Avenue on Wednesday afternoon while engaging in a drug transaction, according to the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives from the sheriff’s office saw a suspicious vehicle at around 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday and kept an eye on it when they observed a drug transaction taking place between the two suspects. “Detectives observed a drug transaction transpire and followed the vehicle,” according to Richard Berdnik, the county sheriff. The following ended with arrests on Haledon Avenue near North 2nd Street.

Conor Walotshy, 24, of West Nyack, NY, the driver, and Joseph Montour, 24, of Ramsey, NJ, the passenger, were apprehended by detectives, after officers followed the vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop. Berdnik’s office says, “a large quantity of Heroin was seized and both individuals were charged as Drug Dealers based on the quantity,” however, the exact amount was not available.

The vehicle was impounded, according to Berdnik; and the two individuals have been lodged inside Paterson Police Department lockup.
