A man, who attempted to stop a fight early Monday morning on Totowa Avenue was stabbed, according to the Paterson Police Department.
The victim, 39-year-old, city resident, was struck with a knife at around 1 a.m. Monday on Totowa Avenue, when he attempted to stop a fight that was taking place on the street between two men who bumped into each other and began a conflict.
The victim was stabbed by one of the combatants as he tried to calm the two down and prevent the conflict from escalating.
A man has been arrested for the stabbing, according to police. The victim, who sustained injuries to the chest — the suspect stabbed him in the upper body — is being treated at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
