A man was found lifeless on the sidewalk of Highland Street early Sunday morning after being shot multiple times, according to Paterson Police Department.

The victim, 33-year-old, was shot multiple times and left near Sparrow and Highland Streets to die, at around 1:55 a.m. Sunday morning, when police responded to the scene after receiving reports of gunfire in the area, to find the wounded man on the sidewalk.

Earlier in the night, the victim had engaged in a dispute with a group of men in the area, who likely are the individuals who left him to die on Sparrow Street.

The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where he is in critical condition.
