Two possibly connected shooting — one near Piercy Street and the other near Temple Street — that occurred during the weekend are under investigation, according to the Paterson Police Department.
First incident
A teenager was walking on Holsman Street at around 10 p.m. on Friday, when he was shot in the left leg near the intersection of Holsman and Piercy Streets. Police responded to the scene after receiving reports of shots fired in the area, and found the 18-year-old victim, wounded in the leg on the street. The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Second incident
A 34-year-old man, who was outside at around 3 a.m. on Sunday, at the intersection of Temple and North 6th Streets, was shot in the abdominal area, as someone released multiple bullets at the group. The victim transported himself by means of private vehicle to hospital; when police responded to the crime scene, they did not find a victim, because the victim was in the hospital seeking treatment for his gunshot wound.
Both incidents are likely related; surveillance videos and evidence are being reviewed by police to connect the pieces and make arrests.
