Two people – a man and a woman — were arrested on Thursday afternoon, near Straight Street waiting to obtain illegal drugs, according to the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office.
Robert Post, 42, a resident of Woodland Park, was stopped by detectives from the office, at around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, when his vehicle was seen loitering near the intersection of Straight Street and Hamilton Avenue. The vehicle is being described as a “gray pickup truck” which had “dark tinted windows” and was “loitering in a high crime area,” read a statement from Richard Berdnik, the county sheriff.
Post was the driver in the vehicle, while next to him in the passenger seat was a Paterson woman, both of whom, were allegedly waiting to make a purchase. “The female occupant, Cynthia Mahoney, 54, of Paterson, NJ, was also arrested and charged with loitering in a high crime area with the intent to obtain CDS,” according to the office.
Detectives found 17 packets of heroin on Post. He also had an expired law enforcement card. “Mr. Post was found in possession of an expired, ‘Passaic County Honorary Special Deputy Sheriff identification Card,’ issued to him in 2003, during a different administration,” according to the office.
Both individuals have been charge for “loitering in a high crime area with the intent to obtain CDS.”
