An elderly city resident was pistol whipped near Broadway on Sunday morning during a robbery, according to the Paterson Police Department.
The victim, 65-year-old, was walking near the intersection of Broadway and Madison Avenue, at around 10:10 a.m. when he was approached by a suspect, who demanded everything he had in his possession.
The suspect put a gun to the victim, and demanded everything he had; the victim refused to hand over his belongings; and that was when the suspect used the butt of the handgun to assault the elderly man.
After hitting the 65-year-old over the head with the weapon, the suspect grabbed his wallet and ran from the scene.
