A city man was wounded by gunfire early Wednesday morning near Broadway, according to the Paterson Police Department.
The victim, 44-year-old, was outside the Hollywood Fried Chicken establishment near Straight Street, at around 3:40 a.m. on Wednesday, when he was approached by two men, one of whom had a handgun.
The victim had exited the store briefly, and while he was coming back inside the two men accosted him. One of the suspect pulled out a gun, and shot the 44-year-old in the hip, leaving him hospitalized.
Police rushed him to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment. Police have yet to identify the suspects in the shooting.
