School Number Nine, located on Timothy Street, will be closed today due to a factory fire in the neighborhood, according to the school district.

A factory building on 90 George Street caught on fire at 9:45 p.m. last night forcing the school district to close the school. Authorities have said by 8 a.m. the fire has been brought under control.

Streets around the school have been blocked off to traffic because the blaze continued to burn into the early morning hours of Thursday. So far no one has been hurt in the blaze, according to officials.
