A man was wounded in the leg outside a restaurant on Madison Avenue during the early morning hours of Saturday.
The victim who was inside the Banana King restaurant near the intersection of Madison and 21st Avenues sometime after 3 a.m. was wounded in the leg.
Police responded to the scene, and initially spoke to the victim who told them the manner in which the incident unfolded. The victim did not realize he was shot until he had finished giving police all the details of the shooting.
The victim was rushed to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment. Employees at the restaurant observed a suspect heading down 21st Avenue minutes following the shooting.
An official response from the city’s police department was not available.
