18-year-old woman, man wounded in shooting on Governor Street

A city woman and man were found with gunshot wounds near Carroll Street during the afternoon hours of Saturday, according to the Paterson Police Department.

The female victim, 18-year-old, was wounded in the buttocks at the intersection of Carroll and Governor Streets at around 1:50 p.m. Saturday, according to police. “On arrival, officers located a 21 year old female with a gunshot wound to the buttocks area,” said Patrick Murray, head of the Ceasefire Unit.

The male victim, 30-year-old, was found nearby at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso, according to police. “The victim had sustained several gunshot wounds and was taken to the trauma room for treatment,” said Murray.

Both victims were transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment. The 18-year-old is in stable condition, according to police. The 30-year-old is in critical but stable condition.
