Today, we learned of the passing of a giant of a woman. A true pioneer. An activist second to none. Her writings and her superior artistry captivated the minds of both the young and even the young at heart.

Her work carried the span of numerous decades. Her legacy will live on till the day the sun ceases to shine.

Let us remember her by practicing what she taught us.

She taught us to be unapologetic in our efforts to be who we are.

She taught us to either accept who we are or make the changes needed to get us to the place we would like to be.

I am writing this based on my personal analysis. These are the lessons I gleamed from her life. Countless generations will continue to be inspired by her great work. May she rest in peace.
