The Paterson Historic District will host the second annual Paterson Film Festival with 40 films scheduled to be screened at the Fabian 8 Cinema inside the Center City Mall and the Ivanhoe Artists Mosaic during the weekend of June 14th and 15th, announced organizers of the festival.

The two-day festival will screen short films, documentaries, animation, and music videos. Works of student film makers will be screened at the festival as well.

“Admission to the festival is free,” Tazio Ruffilo, one of the event’s organizers, said. Ruffilo said awards will be issued to films in several categories. “Prizes and scholarships totaling over $3,000 will be awarded to filmmakers and local students,” Ruffilo said.

Last year, when the festival began,  a total of $1,100 in cash prizes and $2,000 in scholarships were awarded to filmmakers, according to the organizers.

A complete list of films to be screen can be found here: click here for list. Screening will begin both days at 10:30 a.m. A schedule of when each film is being screened can be found here.
