A Passaic woman was arrested during the early morning hours of Friday on Fair Street with a stolen vehicle, according to the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office.
Pooja Kumra, 22-year-old, was inside a vehicle that was parked on Fair Street near Auburn Street at around 5:54 a.m. on Friday. Sheriff’s officer Craig Goodson spotted the car inside of which was Kumra.
Goodson arrested Kumra transporting her to headquarters for processing. Kumra who had an outstanding $200 warrant out of Paterson was charged with receiving stolen property, according to the sheriff’s office.
“The matter is still under investigation and additional charges are possible,” said sheriff Richard Berdnik. The sheriff said his office actively investigates and cracks down on those who receive stolen properties.
“Stolen vehicles affect the victim and all residents who are forced to pay higher auto insurance rates,” Berdnik said.
Kumra was processed and is being held at the city’s police lockup.
