Community meeting to be held in Paterson Museum to determine fate of Levine Reservoir

The reservoir as it currently stands.

The New Jersey Community Development Corporation (NJCDC) is holding a community meeting at the Paterson Museum on Monday evening with the Passaic Valley Water Commission to discuss the fate of the Stanley M. Levine Reservoir.

The commission has a plan to drain most of the reservoir that sits triangulated by Spruce, Grand, and Hoxey streets to place large concrete water container at the Great Falls Historic District to adhere to federal regulations. City residents have opposed the idea suggesting the two large tanks the commission is attempting to place at the site will reduce area property values and undermine the Great Falls National Park.

When: Monday September 15, 2014
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Where: Paterson Museum (GPS: 2 Market Street, Paterson, NJ)

The corporation is inviting residents and community stakeholders to express their views at the meeting.
