An early morning shooting on Ellison Street left a man wounded.

The victim was in the area of Ellison and Prospect streets at around 2:11 a.m. on Monday when gunfire rang out.

Police quickly responded to the scene finding a vehicle was attempting to leave the area. An officer pulled over the vehicle at the intersection of Main and Market streets locating a gunshot wound victim.

Ambulance was called to transport the victim to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Police have not released information about the shooting.
