22-year-old wounded in shooting on Auburn Street

A city man was wounded when gunfire rang out at the intersection of Auburn Street and Godwin Avenue early Friday morning, according to the Paterson Police Department.

The victim, 22-year-old, was in the area of Auburn Street and Godwin Avenue at around 3:15 a.m. on Friday when gunfire rang out. The victim was wounded in the abdomen, police said.

Police said the victim walked into the main desk at the police headquarters seeking assistance for his wound. “Medical personnel was immediately notified and the victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment, and is currently in critical but stable condition,” Patrick Murray, head of the Ceasefire Unit, said.
