City man wounded in Northside shooting

An 18-year-old city man was wounded during the evening hours of Monday on North Main and East Main streets, according to the Paterson Police Department.

The victim was in the Northside neighborhood at around 9:30 p.m. Monday when shots rang out in the area. “At this time, it appears that the victim was walking along East Main Street near Cobb Municipal Park when shots were fired and he was struck in the leg,” Patrick Murray, head of the Ceasefire Unit, said.

The victim was rushed to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment. Murray said the victim is in stable condition at the hospital.
