City narcotics officers acting on a texted tip arrested an alleged drug dealer who was distributing marijuana out of his apartment on East 33rd Street, said police director Jerry Speziale.

Police also confiscated $12,564 in suspected drug proceeds from Dane Rochester, 25, following a surveillance operation of his apartment at 330 East 33rd Street at about 4 p.m. on Tuesday, said the director.

Rochester has been charged with marijuana possession, intent to distribute, and intent to distribute in a school zone.

“This is just another great job [by the] Paterson narcotics unit,” said Speziale.

Correction: A previous version of this story stated the suspect was 24-year-old, when in fact, he is 25.
