The Passaic County Clerk’s Office has opened up the nominating process for the city’s school board election. Three school board seats are up for grabs during the November 3rd, 2015 election.

Prospective school board members considering a run must turn in 10 valid signatures by July 27th, 2015 to the clerk’s office in order to secure a place on the ballot.

Petition form can be found online at the county’s website by clicking here. Petitions can also be picked up at the county clerk’s office at 401 Grand Street, Room 130, Paterson, New Jersey, from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Candidate kit for potential school board members can be found at the New Jersey School Boards Association.

The Paterson Education Fund, non-profit education advocacy, which holds an annual candidate workshop, is willing to hold one-on-one sessions with prospective candidates, said Rosie Grant, director of the education advocacy.

“I’m willing to do it again for anybody who wants it,” said Grant. She said the non-profit has already hosted its workshop for new school board candidate, but is willing to repeat the process for possible candidates who have missed it. Anyone interested in informative new candidate’s workshop can contact the group at (973) 881-8914.
