A city man who lost control of his vehicle at the intersection of 21st Avenue and Straight Street due to a “large pothole” sued the city. The city settled the lawsuit on June 3rd, 2015.

Anthony Gray alleged he sustained “serious, painful, and permanent injuries,” according to court records. He was involved in an accident on April 12th, 2011.

Gray was traveling on 21st Avenue until he approached Straight Street where a “large pothole,” reads court records, “caused him to lose control of his vehicle and collide with a bridge support beam.”

“Dangerous condition” resulted in the accident, according to Gray’s complaint. The next day he went to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, “but received no treatment,” according to the city’s court filing.

Gray’s lawsuit was settled for $2,500, according to city records. Council members approved the settlement during a June 3rd, 2015 special meeting.
