The Great Falls YouthBuild program run by the New Jersey Community Development Corporation (NJCDC) is taking applications. YouthBuild students work towards obtaining their high school equivalency diploma and to earn certificates that create opportunities for employment.
Young people also learn job and college-readiness skills, build affordable housing in their community, and undertake hands on construction work. Mostly high school drop-outs, the young people are paid as they study and work for a better future in the program.
A young person must meet certain eligibility requirement to enroll into the program:
• Must be in the age range 16-24
• High school dropout, not currently enrolled in school
• Must be available Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a 10-month period.
Applications are now available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Paterson Great Falls Program Headquarters located at 302 Main Street, Paterson, NJ 07505.
The program also hosts information sessions every Tuesday from July 7 to August 25 between 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. For more information call (973) 345-5516 ext. 11 or attend an information session at the program’s Main Street office.
