21-year-old alleged Paterson drug dealer arrested with loaded gun on Alois Place

Karlton-Kibler

A 21-year-old city man — who was released from state prison six months ago after serving 17 months for dealing drugs on school property — was arrested on Friday night on weapon and drug charges, said police director Jerry Speziale.

Karlton K. Kibler was arrested on heroin possession, distribution, resisting arrest, and weapon offenses at about 10:32 p.m. at 18 Alois Place by the city police Narcotics Unit, said the director.

Kibler allegedly had in possession a loaded .25 caliber handgun and 10 glassines of heroin. He also had in possession $1,105 in suspected drug proceeds.

Speziale said Kibler is also charged with intent to distribute heroin near Riverside housing development. Kibler is also charged with possession of handgun by a convicted felon, said the director.

Kibler was arrested previously on May 1st, 2013 for distributing drugs on school property, according to state records.  The charged carried a mandatory minimum 18-month sentence and maximum three-year term.

He was sentenced on November 1st, 2013. He was released on parole on March 12th, 2015, according to state records.

“If we continue with our goal removing guns from our streets we continue to make our city safer,” said Speziale.
