21-year-old Paterson man in critical condition after 12th Avenue shooting

A city man is in critical condition after he was shot multiple times early Tuesday morning, according to the Paterson Police Department.

The victim, 21-year-old, was shot at around 2:04 a.m. on Tuesday in the area of 12th Avenue and East 22nd Street, police said.

Patrick Murray, head of the Ceasefire Unit, said the victim was found lying in the intersection with multiple gunshot wounds when police responded to the scene. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, Murray said.

The victim was rushed to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment. Police said the victim is in critical condition at the hospital.

Murray said police continue to investigate the shooting.
