22 people arrested on warrant and drug charges in weekly Paterson sweep

City police arrested 22 people on warrant drug charges in the past week, said police director Jerry Speziale.

Police recovered 164 bags of crack-cocaine, 398 glassines of heroin, 99 bags of marijuana, and an assortment of 186 pills, said the director.  A handgun was also recovered in the sweep that took place from December 1st through the 8th.

$2,362 in suspected drug proceeds was confiscated during the sweep, said the director.

Arrested on drug charges were: Arnaldo Roman, 19, of East 28th Street; Carroll Maurice Anderson, 48, of East 39th Street; Jonathan Cardenas, 20, of River Street; Michael Costello, 51, of Park Avenue; Stephen Williams, 44, of Franklin Street; Dandre I. Jacobus, 18, of Market Street; Rashon J. Alexander, 32, of Haledon; Keith T. Hill, 46, of Broadway; Arty Manzante, 37, of 16th Avenue; Marquan Stradford, 25, of Park Avenue; Jahquill Bradley, 27, of North 7th Street; Jerome A. Rodriguez, 21, of Madison Avenue; Arsenio Rosario, 20, of Madison Avenue; Luis Vincent, 46, of Franklin Street; Rodney Gonzalez, 27, of River Street; Jeremiah C. David, 19, of 6th Avenue; Devante Forsey, 22, of East 22nd Street; Calvin K. Benson, 19, of Fair Street; and Rashone N. Clark, 23, of 12th Avenue.

Arrested on outstanding warrants were: Erica Thompson, 44, of East 27th Street; Nikka Gee, 47, of 12th Avenue; Jaquelyne Diaz, 33, of Godwin Avenue, according to police.

Those arrested on drug charges include a mix of alleged drug dealers and buyers. The sweep was conducted throughout the city, according to police. A H&K USP Compact 9 mm handgun was recovered from Hill, according to police.

Majority of the pills seized in the sweep were recovered from Rosario. 71 Tramadol, 75 Acetaminophen or Codeine, 10 Acetaminophen or Hydrocodone, and 2 Ecstacy pills, according to police.

“We will continuously pursue the drugs plaguing our community and remove those responsible,” said Speziale.
