A city man was found with a gunshot wound inside a Preakness Avenue home on Christmas Eve, according to the Paterson Police Department.
The victim, 36-year-old, was wounded in the upper torso, according to police.
Police responded to the home at around 11:40 p.m. Thursday after receiving call of a shooting victim at the Preakness Avenue residence near Hill Street.
The victim was rushed to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment. He’s in critical condition at the hospital, police said.
Police director Jerry Speziale said the shooting resulted from a domestic dispute.
“Domestic related incidents are very unpredictable and dangerous especially during the holiday season,” said Speziale. “It’s a shame that during a season of joy, domestic violence incidents increase. “
