A motorist has been hospitalized after a train struck his car at the 5th Avenue and Wait Street grade crossing Thursday night.
The 2002 white Hyundai Sonata was struck at around 7:30 p.m. and the driver was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment, according to officials. The train left Hoboken and was bound for Suffern, New York.
Other trains on the Main Line were briefly delayed as a result of the accident.
It’s not clear what injuries the driver suffered.
Correction: A previous version of this story erroneously stated the incident happened on Wake Street when in fact it happened on Wait Street.
