Paterson man shot in the leg in questionable shooting

A 22-year-old city man told police he was shot in the leg early Saturday morning, according to police.

Police said the victim arrived at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center via private vehicle at about 5 a.m. He is in stable condition at the hospital, said police.

The victim was possibly shot during a robbery, according to police.

Detectives are attempting to piece together the incident by determining the location of the shooting.

“The sequence of events in this shooting are questionable and will be thoroughly vetted and investigated by the members of the cease-fire unit,” said police director Jerry Speziale.
