A hearing on the state-operated school district is being hosted at Eastside High School on Tuesday morning.

Legislators will hear from the schools superintendent, board of education members, teachers union, president of the Paterson NAACP, parents, and students.

The Joint Committee on the Public Schools chaired by Assemblywoman Mila Jasey will receive an update on Paterson’s compliance with QSAC with the intention of returning the district to local control.

The hearing will begin at 11 a.m. at Eastside High School, 150 Park Avenue.

Members of the public are invited to address the committee with concerns about the school district.
