After threatening a woman with a handgun on Governor and Carroll Streets early Sunday morning, a 21-year-old city man led police on a foot chase which ended with the suspect’s arrest and seizure of a loaded gun, said police director Jerry Speziale.
Shaquan Winstead allegedly threw the loaded .357 Colt Python handgun loaded with 6 hollow point rounds in the backyard of 130 12th Avenue as police officers Ryan Duffy and Thomas Giaquinto chased him several blocks at about 12:25 a.m.
Winstead was charged with numerous weapon offenses, said the director.
“The officers in the situation used great restraint, which could have turned deadly,” said Speziale.
