Paterson’s drug sweep nets 17 alleged buyers and dealers

The city’s weekly narcotics sweep netted 17 on various drug offenses, according to police director Jerry Speziale.

Police recovered 248 glassines of heroin, 23 baggies of marijuana, 6 baggies of crack-cocaine, and 2 Suboxone Films. $1,390 in cash was also seized in the sweep from May 3rd through 9th, 2016.

Charged with drug offenses were city residents Angelo Baksh, 33, of Beech Street; Felicia O. Ross, 47, of 12th Avenue; Saul G. Sanchez, 39, of 15th Avenue; Effrain Morales, 50, East 22nd Street; Jesus Silva, 62, of Straight Street; Alphateer L. Morris, 23, of Hamilton Avenue; Shaquor Williams, 22, of Broadway; Gralen F. Moore, 59, of North 4th Street; Henry Reams, 59, of Lily Street; 16-year-old city boy; Royer Marin, 49, of Courtland Street; and Shamir B. Wade, 23, of East 31st Street.

Also charged on drug offenses were Nural Sackoor, 20, of Bloomfield; Jianni T. Ortiz, age unknown, of Bloomfield; Antonio K. Walker also known as “Key,” 38, of Haledon; Richard Sparagoski, 27, of Fair Lawn; and William J. Gallagher, 45, of Englewood Cliffs.

Sackoor, Ortiz, and Baksh were charged with having 1 small baggie of marajuana at 107 Beech Street on May 3rd, 2016. Baksh allegedly sold the bag to Sackoor and Ortiz. He also had 2 Suboxone Films without a subscription, according to police.

On the same day, Ross and Walker were charged with having 6 baggies of crack-cocaine at 13 12th Avenue, according to police. Walker allegedly sold the six baggies to Ross. $1,075 in suspected drug money was seized from Walker, said police.

Sanchez, Morales, and Silva were caught at 94 Cedar Street on May 4th, 2016, according to police.

Silva allegedly had 13 glassines of heroin. Sanchez and Morales were charged with loitering to commit a drug offenses, said police.

$315 in drug money was seized from Silva.

The next day, police charged Morris and Williams at East 18th Street and Hamilton Avenue with having 12 glassines of heroin.

On the same day, police nabbed a 16-year-old boy with 164 glassines of heroin at Governor Street Carroll Street. His two customers Moore and Reams were charged with having 14 glassines of heroin.

The teen also resisted arrest by flight, according to police.

Marin was arrested for loitering to commit a drug offense and for providing police a false name at 256 Paxton Street on May 6th, 2016.

Sparagoski was arrested with 59 glassines of heroin at Broadway and Rosa Parks Boulevard on May 9th, 2016.

On the same day, police nabbed Gallagher and Wade on marijuana possession at 436 East 32nd Street.

Gallagher allegedly had 1 knotted bag of marijuana while Wade had 22 knotted bags, according to police.

“We will continue to remove illegal narcotics and those who choose to buy or sell them in our city,” said Speziale.
