A Clifton man was killed in a fatal car crash on 21st Avenue and East 21st Street early Saturday morning, according to police.

Police said 25-year-old Diego Maldonado died after crashing into a home close to the intersection at about 4 a.m.

No one inside the home was injured, said police director Jerry Speziale. However, two people were injured at the scene and are receiving treatment at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police have not released the name of the individual who died in the accident.

Speziale said authorities are notifying the family. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family,” he said.

The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Paterson Traffic Division continue to investigate the incident.
