One man was killed and two others were wounded in shooting at the intersection of Godwin Avenue and Carroll Street early Saturday morning, according to police.
Police identified the man killed in the incident as city resident Kashaad James, 21. He was found on the sidewalk near 139 Godwin Avenue when officers responded to the scene at 1:04 a.m., said deputy police chief Heriberto Rodriguez.
James was rushed to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment. “Medical personnel were not able to revive the victim, and he was pronounced deceased at the hospital,” said Rodriguez.
Police said a second victim, 25-year-old, city man, remains in critical but stable condition. He was located on Governor Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard and taken to the hospital.
A third victim, 23, city resident, left the scene of the shooting and went home. Family members requested medical attention for him. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The 23-year-old man was treated and released from the hospital, said police.
