A city man with $80,723 in outstanding child support was arrested while crossing North Main Street on Friday afternoon, according to Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik.
Gerald Cody, 47-year-old, was arrested at around 5:22 p.m., while he was crossing from Haledon Avenue to North Main Street. Detectives were at a red light in the area when he was spotted and quickly apprehended.
Cody has two active child support warrants totaling $80,723. He also has an outstanding warrant out of Passaic County Sheriff’s Office relating to a stolen vehicle and resisting arrest by flight, authorities said.
Detectives took him into custody and transported him to police lockup.
