A Bergen County man was arrested with 7 bricks of heroin at the Riverside Terrae Housing Development in Paterson on Sunday, according to Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik.

Melvin York, 46 of Lodi, was observed making a hand-to-hand drug transaction with two females at the housing complex off of 5th Avenue, authorities said. As detective Americo Escobar and officer Joseph Royce approached the two women fled, but York could not escape fast enough.

York was arrested as he tried to flee. 7 bricks of heroin was seized from York. A brick of heroin is comprised of 50 glassine envelopes. Street value of the drug seized is approximately $1,500, Berdnik said.

Authorities charged York with possession and intent to distribute.

but why was he in Paterson? because the women sold him the heroin, so don't make it look like here's another outsider coming to Paterson.they come here because they have a demand that Paterson supplies.
