A 26-year-old Essex County woman was arrested on drug charges when authorities spotted her napping inside a car in Paterson with various drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle in plain view, according to Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik.
Alexis Depalma, 26-year-old, of West Caldwell, was arrested for having drug paraphernalia, 4 bags of crack cocaine, and 1 bundle of heroin on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
Depalma was found slumped over the steering wheel on 8th Avenue and East 28th Street at 2:20 p.m. by detective Americo Escobar and officer Joseph Royce. She was woken up. She told Escobar and Royce she was taking a nap inside the car, Berdnik said.
“Individuals need to realize, if they come to Passaic County for the purpose of buying or selling drugs, they will be arrested,” Berdnik said.
