A city man who was allegedly dealing heroin at a quiet intersection in the Hillcrest section was apprehended along with his customer on Friday afternoon, said police director Jerry Speziale.
912 glassine envelopes of heroin and $2,986 in cash was seized in the drug bust which occurred at 4:15 p.m., said the director.
Police arrested the alleged dealer Allen Young of Totowa Avenue and the buyer Peter Realmonte of Pine Brook. Detective Kevin Kunzig saw Young and Realmonte conduct a drug transaction while he was conducting surveillance in the area due to numerous resident complaint of drug dealing in the area.
Kunzig saw Young approach a white pick up truck to make a sale. Police conducted a motor vehicle stop and apprehended Realmonte finding 20 glassines of heroin in his vehicle.
Police arrested Young at Wayne and Totowa Avenues. A search of his home at 287 Totowa Avenue led to the seizure of 892 glassines of heroin and $2,986 in cash.
“This was a coordinated effort with community collaboration, which resulted in these arrests,” said Speziale.
