The city’s weekly narcotics sweep netted 16 people and large quantities of heroin, Xanax, and Oxycontin pills, according to police.
Police also seized $13,916 in cash in drug busts from August 16th through 22nd, 2016. In all 594 glassines of heroin, 180 Xanax, 163 Oxycontin, 79 Oxycodone, 2 Percocet pills, 21 baggies of crack-cocaine, 22 grams of crack-cocaine, 95 grams of powdered cocaine, 3 grams of MDMA, and 3 baggies of marijuana was confiscated during the sweep, said police.
A handgun with 18 hollow point bullets was also seized, said police.
Arrested were city residents Julio Dejesus also known as “JR,” 25, of Paterson Avenue; Richard L. Garcia, 29, of Ryerson Avenue; Jamal L. Campbell, 29, of Keen Street; Kyon D. Watson, 30, of Broadway; Maria D. Delgado, 54, of Kathys Court; Jorge Pichardo, 24, of Haledon Avenue; Ruperto J. Ortiz, 24, of Market Street; and Antonio Rainey, 50, of 17th Avenue.
Also charged were Christine J. Osmak, 23, of Clifton; Troy Saucier, 25, of Suffern, New York; Eric J. Truppi, 32, of Little Ferry; Roy V. Schmitt, 33, of North Haledon; Christian R. Barreto, 43, of Prospect Park; Brandon C. Adams, 24, of Wayne; Jason L. Wagoner aka “Jay,” 38, of Lafayette; and Ryan T. Cronin, 30, of Newton.
Police charged Osmak with having 8 glassines of heroin on Totowa and Ryerson Avenues on August 16th, 2016.
On the same day, police raided 23 Ryerson Avenue arresting Dejesus and Garcia. Garcia was charged with having 12 Xanax, 2 Percocet, and 2 Oxycontin pills, 95 grams of powdered cocaine, 17 grams of crack-cocaine, and 200 glassines of heroin.

Garcia also had in possession a Lorcin .380 handgun and 18 hollow point bullets. He was charged with certain person not to have a firearm, and for receiving stolen property — the handgun.
$3,511 in suspected drug money was seized from Garcia, according to police.
Garcia allegedly sold 1 Xanax, 2 Percocet, and 2 Oxycontin to Dejesus, said police.
Saucier, Campbell, and Watson were arrested at 666 East 26th Street on August 17th, 2016. Police charged Saucier with loitering to commit a drug offense and destruction of evidence.
Campbell and Watson were charged with having 21 baggies of crack-cocaine, 3 baggies of marijuana, said police.
$173 in suspected drug money was seized from Campbell. $4,078 in drug money was taken from Watson, said police.
Truppi was charged with having 10 glassines of heroin on Park Avenue and East 29th Street on the same day, said police.
Schmitt and Delgado were arrested at 489 Park Avenue. Police charged both with having 30 glassines of heroin.
Police said Delgado sold the 30 packets to Schmitt.
$158 in suspected drug money was taken from Delgado.
On August 18th, 2016, police charged Barreto with loitering to commit a drug offense at East 18th and Market Streets.
Adams and Pichardo were arrested at 366 21st Avenue. Police charged both with having 168 prescription Xanax pills, 161 prescription Oxycontin pills, 3grams of MDMA (molly), and possession of marijuana (under 50grams), according to police.
Police seized $190 and $4,259 from Adams and Pichardo respectively.
Ortiz was arrested with 5 grams of crack-cocaine at 794 East 18th Street. $290 in drug money was seized from him, said police.
Wagoner, Cronin, and Rainey were busted at 746 East 27th Street on August 19th, 2016. Police charged Rainey with having 346 glassines of heroin and for selling 250 glassines to Wagoner and Cronin.
Police charged Wagoner and Cronin with having 79 Oxycodone pills. Both were also charged with having 250 glassines of heroin, said police.
$897 in suspected drug money was seized from Rainey. $360 was taken from Wagoner.
“The men and women of the Narcotics Division continue to attack those responsible for selling and distributing illegal narcotics in our city on a daily basis,” said police director Jerry Speziale.
