Paterson man, 23, wounded in the buttocks in Carroll Street shooting

A 23-year-old city man was wounded in a shooting on Sunday afternoon on Carroll and Governor Streets, according to police.

Police said the victim was wounded in the buttocks. He arrived at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center via private vehicle minutes after police officers responded to the scene on a call of shots fired in the area.

The officers searched the area at about 2:05 p.m. Police said the victim was in the area when he heard shots fired and was struck. He is in stable condition at the hospital, said police.

This is the city’s 14th shooting this month. 11 people have been wounded and 3 killed in September so far.
