The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating a police-involved shooting that occurred on Oak and Madison Streets late Friday night.
One civilian sustained non-life threatening injuries and has been treated, said chief assistant Passaic County prosecutor Mary Ryan.
Authorities did not release further information about the incident.
Police received reports of shots fired at 194 Oak Street at around 10:20 p.m., according to police sources. There was also shots fired at 98 Madison Street.
Police director Jerry Speziale said the prosecutor’s office is investigating the incident.
The shooting activated the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Shooting Response Team which has secured the scene.
Ryan said the investigation is “active and ongoing.”
