Paterson’s weekly drug sweep nets 32 arrests, assortment of drugs

The city’s weekly drug sweep yielded 32 arrests, more than 170 packets of heroin, and $4,149 in drug money, according to police.

Police also confiscated 69 baggies of marijuana, 138 grams of marijuana, 2 plastic containers and 8 jars of marijuana, 3 PCP dipped cigarettes, 1 knotted bag of crack-cocaine, 26 baggies of crack-cocaine, 30 Ecstasy, 27 Percocet, 5 Xanax pills, and 2 knotted bags of heroin in the sweep which ran from October 4th through 10th, 2016.

Arrested were city residents Frankie V. Phillips, 44, of Trenton Avenue; a 17-year-old city boy; Tyus R. Jackson, 21, of Cedar Street; Christopher M. Phillips, 33, of Garfield Avenue; Jaques Jones, 27, of East 24th Street; Hezekiah A. Mathews, 53, of Park Avenue; Ruben K. Moore, 53, of Prince Street; Joshua Hendricks, 29, of Market Street; Josmil Espinal, 18, of 14th Avenue; Cameron A. Tulloch, 19, of Harrison Street; Jeremy Rodriguez, 20, of Green Street; Vanessa Perez, 18, of Danforth Avenue; Xavier Omar Alvarez, 19, of Danforth Avenue; a 17-year-old city boy; Zuleimy Milete, 25, of East 40th Street; Zuhey Milete, 28, of Park Avenue; Joseph Milete, 18, of Park Avenue; Anthony R. Vasquez, 23, of 19th Avenue; Samar Vaughan, 22, of Holsman Street; Ricky Carter aka “Pretty Ricky,” 35, of Totowa Avenue; Migdoel Vargas, 30, of Governor Street; Robert Marche, 35, of Madison Avenue; Thomas A. Womble, 37, of Governor Street; Yolanda Ricks, 32, of Governor Street; and Genar Norfleet, 29, of Harrison Street;

Also arrested were Julio Medina, 36, of Passaic City; Jefferson Ahn, 28, of Newark; Manuel Duval, 21, of Prospect Park; Pawel Soltys, 23, of Garfield; Beata Kubiak, 20, of Wallington; Adalis Prieto, 26, of Fair Lawn; and Elias D. Nieves, 26, of Bergenfield.

Jackson, Frankie V. Phillips, and the first 17-year-old city boy were arrested at 208 Governor Street on October 4th, 2016 for having marijuana in their possession.

Jackson allegedly had 6 baggies of marijuana. He sold 1 baggie each to Frankie V. Phillips and the 17-year-old. He faces 10 separate drug charges, according to police.

The next day, police arrested Christopher M. Phillips and Jones on 14th Avenue for having PCP dipped cigarettes.

Jones allegedly had 127 grams of PCP in a glass bottle. Jones also had 3 dipped cigarette of which 1 was sold to Christopher M. Phillips.

Jones charged with six drug charges. $760 in drug money was seized from Jones, said police.

Mathews and Moore were arrested on the same day on Pearl and Auburn Streets. Police said Mathews was loitering to commit a drug offense and Moore had 1 baggie of marijuana.

Police charged Moore on four drug charges. He was also charged with resisting arrest, said police.

Hendricks was caught with 4 baggies of marijuana and 8 baggies of crack-cocaine on the same day at 620 Main Street, said police.

Espinal, Tulloch, and Rodriguez were arrested at 38 Jackson Street. Espinal was charged with having 1 baggie of marijuana, Tulloch was charged with having 18 baggies of crack-cocaine, and Rodriguez allegedly had 3 jars of marijuana, said police.

$223 in suspected drug money was seized from Rodriguez.

Medina, Perez, and Alvarez were arrested at 130 Danforth Avenue on October 6th, 2016.

Police charged the occupants of the home — Alvarez and Perez — with having 55 grams of marijuana, 30 Ecstasy, 2 Percocet, and 5 Xanax pills. Both were charged with 12 drug offenses each.

Medina was charged with having 28 grams of marijuana, 9 Ecstasy, Percocet, and Xanax pills.

$543 in drug money was seized from Alvarez, said police.

Ahn, the second 17-year-old city boy, Zuleimy Milete, Zuhey Milete, and Joseph Milete were arrested at 222 Park Avenue on the same day, said police.

Ahn was charged with having 1 glassine of heroin. The juvenile and Zuleimy Milete were charged with having 116 glassines of heroin, 1 knotted baggie of heroin, 1 knotted sandwich bag of crack-cocaine, 25 Percocet pills, 4 knotted bags of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Police confiscated $48 from the 17-year-old and $294 from Zuleimy Milete.

Zuhey Milete and Joseph Milete were charged with having 1 knotted bag of heroin, 1 knotted sandwich bag of crack-cocaine, 25 Percocet pills, 4 knotted bags of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Vasquez and Vaughan were arrested with 4 jars of marijuana at 6 Rosa Parks Boulevard on October 7th, 2016.

Police took $927 from Vasquez and $30 from Vaughan in suspected drug money.

Carter and Duval were arrested the same day at 620 Main Street. Police said Carter had 1 jar of marijuana while Duval had 10 glassines of heroin and $1,344 in suspected drug money.

Vargas, Marche, Womble, Ricks, and Norfleet were arrested at 205 Governor Street on October 8th, 2016.

Vargas was charged with loitering to commit a drug offenses while Marche was charged with having 1 Ziploc bag of marijuana. Womble was charged with having 51 baggies and 2 plastic containers of marijuana.

Womble was charged with 7 drug offenses. He also had $44 in suspected drug money. Ricks and Norfleet were charged with having 6 baggies of marijuana, said police.

$230 in drug money was taken from Norfleet.

Soltys and Kubiak were charged with having 30 glassines of heroin on 9th Avenue and East 27th Street on October 10th, 2016.

Prieto and Nieves were charged with having 14 glassines of heroin on Wall Avenue and East 13th Street on the same day, said police.

“We will continue our efforts of attacking all those involved with illegal drugs as it is an engine for other crimes,” said Speziale. “Come to Paterson for drugs and you will be pursued and arrested.”
