The city’s Black Lives Matter group is hosting a battle ground state text-a-thon to bring out black voters to the polls in key general election races.
With two weeks left before the November 8, 2016 election, the activist group known for protesting police violence against African-Americans is hosting the text-a-thon in partnership with Color of Change PAC to inform voters about issues like education, housing, healthcare, employment.
The text-a-thon will be held at the St. Augustine Presbyterian Church at 159 Governor Street in Paterson on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 12 to 3 p.m. Attendees will be served food and provided technology to text voters across the country in real-time.
