Police seized a loaded handgun and several hollow point bullets in a late Tuesday morning traffic stop on Market Street, said police director Jerry Speziale.
Speziale said police officers stopped a silver Chevy at the intersection of Market and Summer Streets at about 11:13 a.m. for a rejected inspection sticker. Three males were inside the vehicle, a passenger in the back seat was observed moving his hands to his lap raising suspicion of a weapon.
Police seized from Justin Williams had a loaded .40 caliber Smith and Wesson that was in his waistband which he handed over to officers Eudy Ramos, Daniel Pent, and Jonathan Bustios.
The officers also confiscated several hollow point rounds.
“These officers were able to see the situation for what it was and took another weapon off our streets in the face of danger,” remarked the police director.
