A 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg in a shooting on Auburn Street on Friday evening, according to police.
Police said the boy sustained a gunshot wound to the leg at about 6:15 p.m. on Auburn Street near Broadway. He was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment. He is in stable condition, said police.
Auburn Street is a known drug area frequented by both addicts and drug dealers at all hours of the day.
Police director Jerry Speziale expressed confidence in the Ceasefire Unit to find those responsible and deliver “swift and decisive justice.”
