Almost two dozen alleged drug dealers and buyers were picked up in the latest rounds of the city’s weekly drug sweep in Paterson, according to police.
Police arrested 19 people and seized 333 glassines of heroin, 50 Xanax pills, 36 baggies of marijuana, and 9 baggies of crack-cocaine in their crackdown from January 10th through 16th, 2017. $752 in suspected drug money was seized in the sweep, said police director Jerry Speziale.
Arrested were city residents Kevin L. Henderson, 51, of Fulton Street; Oscar L. Moncion, 44, of 17th Avenue; Edward Williams, 46, of North 9th Street; Terry Watson, 35, of Pennington Street; Rayshawn Johnson, 27, of Carroll Street; Shaquan Winstead, 22, of East 28th Street; Ashira S. Robinson, 20, of Warren Street; Tyreak D. Kellum, 23, of Warren Street; Noel Marte, 30, of River Street; Namier Francis, 22, of North 6th Street; 14-year-old boy; Rashawn Pelham, 18, of Governor Street; Dontay E. Odom, 27, of Grimes Place; and Troy Cox, 56, of Governor Street.
Also arrested were Fernando Armas, 31, of Haledon; Salvatore Bonadonna, 25, of Lodi; Kelsye A. Rosario, 22, of Ridgefield Park; Nicole Ianni, 22, of Passaic City; and Thomas M. Hansen, 22, of Passaic City.
Police arrested Henderson, Moncion, Williams, and Watson at 751 East 18th Street on January 10th, 2017.
Henderson allegedly had 40 glassines of heroin and 9 baggies of crack-cocaine, said police. He was charged with six drug offenses.
Moncion was charged with having 6 glassines of heroin.
Williams was found with three bricks or 150 glassines of heroin. He was charged with three drug offenses, said police.
Watson is accused of having 23 glassines of heroin, said police. Watson was also charged with intent to deal and intent to deal close to Eastside High School.
Police charged Johnson with having 2 sandwich size baggies of marijuana that weighed 26 grams at 20th Avenue and East 38th Street on January 11th, 2017. He was charged with three drug offenses, said police.
On the same day, Winstead was arrested with 27 baggies of marijuana at 34 Essex Street. Police charged him with three drug offenses and took $328 in suspected drug money.
Robinson, Kellum, Marte, and Armas were arrested on Highland and Sparrow Streets on the same day. Marte allegedly sold 2 baggies of marijuana to Robinson and Kellum.
Robinson and Kellum were charged with having 2 baggies of marijuana while Marte was charged with having 4 baggies of marijuana. Marte was also charged with four other drug offenses.
Armas was charged with having 2 glassines of heroin.
Francis was charged with four drug offenses for having 50 glassines of heroin at 205 Governor Street on January 13th, 2017. He also had $424 in suspected drug money that was confiscated, said police.
The 14-year-old boy, Pelham, Bonadonna, Rosario, and Odom were arrested at 257 Broadway on January 16th, 2017.
The boy had 22 glassines of heroin, said police. He was charged with five drug offenses including resisting arrest by flight. $65 in drug money was seized from the boy, said police.
Pelham was charged with eight drug offenses. He had 12 glassines of heroin of which he sold 2 to Odom, said police. He also had 10 glassines of heroin. Police charged him with resisting arrest by flight. $93 in drug money was seized from him.
Bonadonna and Rosario were each charged with having 4 glassines of heroin. Odom was charged with having 2 baggies of heroin. Odom also had a $500 outstanding warrant out of the city’s municipal court.
On the same day, police arrested Ianni, Hansen, and Cox on Broadway and Straight Street.
Ianni and Hansen were charged with having 3 baggies of marijuana.
Cox was charged with having 24 glassines of heroin and 50 Xanax pills, said police. He was charged with six drug offenses, said police.
“Narcotics [Unit] continues to combat the demand and supply in our city,” said Speziale.
